A summer of wellness starts now!

Summer is a great time to grow our wellness. It is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. Holistic wellness includes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of ourselves.

What does wellness mean to you? Tell us to be entered to win a grand prize!

Summer is a beautiful time to live in northern BC. Sunshine, long days, and time spent with family and friends are just some of the things that contribute to one’s wellness. We challenge you to think about what wellness means to you. How do you grow your wellness during this time of year? Share what wellness means to you with one or more of the following:

  • Photograph
  • Video
  • Drawing
  • Poem
  • Story

Send us your submission by September 3, 2017 to be entered to win! Submissions could:

  • Show us how you incorporate wellness at home, at work, or in the wild!
  • Showcase the healthy opportunities your community offers.
  • Focus on physical activity, healthy eating, injury prevention, mental wellness, tobacco reduction or more.

Contest rules and information:

  1. Only residents living in the Northern Health region can qualify to win. Not sure if you are in our region? View the map.
  2. One grand prize will be awarded: submit an entry for the chance to win a wellness prize item (s) of your choice valued at CDN $400 or less.
  3. All entries must be submitted by September 3, 2017.  Paper submissions should be post marked for September 3, 2017 must be received no later than September 13, 2017. Winner will be drawn September 14, 2017.
  4. We will attempt to notify the winner by September 15, 2017. Winners will be contacted via phone or email. An email address or phone number must be provided in order to be eligible for the grand prize.
  5. Entering the contest does not guarantee that you will win a prize.
  6. Each person is allowed to enter the contest once.
  7. By entering the contest, you grant Northern Health the rights to share your submitted photos in future promotional activities.
  8. The winner will be determined by random draw and will be required to answer a skill testing question.
  9. To ensure that the grand prize meets the contest requirements, a Northern Health representative will work with the grand prize winner to identify a prize that will be purchased by Northern Health.
  10. All announced prize winners are final.

  12. Northern Health employees are eligible to enter the contest and win, but will not be granted preferential treatment.
  13. Disclaimer: Northern Health is committed to improving the health of people in the north by protecting health and promoting wellness. To ensure consistency of messaging and approach, contest photo entries must be aligned with the Northern Health series of position papers specific to key risk factors. These position papers are researched and evidence-based. Where activities in photos are not aligned with the framework, messaging or approach endorsed by Northern Health, those activities will not be promoted and will not qualify to be entered into this contest.
